I would like to share a funny story our salesman told us at a recent Marriott sales presentation. It was an excellent presentation and he was absolutely straight with the facts in this presentation. I believe that the following story is true.
He asked us why we were at the presentation and asked if it was because we had been bribed or arm twisted to come. We said yes but we enjoy hearing what is new. He then told us that he is a Marriott owner and had reserved his home week for use by a family member. Shortly before the check-in date he received a call to set up a sales meeting. He replied that he was actually a salesman selling Marriott timeshares at that very resort, which the caller apparently did not understand. He said the guy kept pushing for him to attend a presentation and it was only with great difficulty that he was finally able to decline the invitation. So apparently the screening process leaves more to be desired that we had previously imagined!
