1) Where do you want your home resort to be? Flexible, care little about this because I don't want to stay in the same place very frequently

2) Do you want to visit your home resort at least half the time, or do you want to trade more than half the time? trade nearly all the time (we want to visit a lot of new places, family proximity unimportant)

3) What are your 5 top trade destinations? Very flexible, we want to see the world. Paris, Rome, Venice, Athens, anywhere in India, Thailand, Eastern Europe. Seriously, we want to see it all.

4) How many people do you usually travel with? Just my wife and me, but interested in travelling with some family (especially if it's more economical)

5) Can you travel any time, or are you locked into the school schedule? Anytime, no kids now or in the future.

6) Can you make firm plans 12 or more mos. in advance? Yes

7) Can you vacation for a full week at a time? Yes

8) What level of accommodations do you prefer on a scale of 1 to 5 stars? 3-5

9) How much can you afford to spend upfront, without financing? $10k now, but happy to start saving as needed if that gets more bang for the buck

10) How much can you afford to spend every year for a maintenance fee that will come due right after Christmas, and increase each year? $2500 max for now, maybe more in the future

11) Are you a detail oriented planner? Yes, especially if it means saving money or getting more out of a vacation

12) Do you understand that once you buy a timeshare, it may be very difficult to sell or give away, and you are responsible for all fees, until you do? Yes, and I'm comfortable with that when it makes sense. I'm looking for the right blend of ownership, renting TSs and doing the hotel thing as needed. Whatever makes the most sense.
